Preparing for Final Presentations Day 1
Learners will complete and revise two chosen pieces from their portfolios and reflect on their growth.

Learning Objectives
- With help from my friends and teachers, I can strengthen my work by planning, revising, and editing. (CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.3.5)
- I can have collaborative discussions with my friends, my family, my teacher, or other community members on a topic. I can build on others’ ideas and express my own ideas clearly. (CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.3.1)
- I understand that I can tell a story in many different and creative ways.
Essential Questions
- How can I make meaning of all my learning?
- How can I reflect on my learning?
- What are some areas I can identify for growth and how can I make them better?
Lesson Plan
Draw a quick sketch of a road map on your whiteboard. It can be as simple as a long curved line. To the left is an example of a finished learning road map. Prompt learners to think about the beginning of their learning journey, what was the first thing they did? If they are having trouble remembering, physically reference the sofra display from day one. Invite learning to draw a "destination" at the beginning of the learning map. Continue on until your learning map is complete, encouraging your learners to reference their portfolios as well. Alternatively, you may model how to make a learning map and have learners work in groups to create their own learning maps. This will serve as a reminder of all the different modes of storytelling learners have been exposed to throughout this unit.
